a very long outing

Yesterday met up with Derek - to go eat and eat and eat - and then walk and walk and walk... so tired at the end of the day.

So we went to this Japanese restaurant "yu yi ding" opposite Times Square in Causeway Bay. Food was good, the sashimi was very fresh. The sashimi platter consisted of eight different kinds of seafood - with salmon, tuna, prawns, swordfish, octopus head (yum!), fish' mouth (that tasted fatty, but very yummy!) and 2 other different kinds of fish.

Then we also ordered a lunch set, temprua was good, and the noodlees stuff on the right was really really light and yummy. Though Derek told me it's just normal instant noodles.

Then we went shopping in for a present for Derek's friend - just walked around all the malls in Causeway Bay - there was this one particular shop that had these cool gifts. Boys - I'm sure you'll LOVE the picture on the left.

top - (some interersting lamps)(those good luck cats)
bottom - (cute mini food sets)(edison chen's shop! he's so CUTE!!!)

Then it was time for afternoon tea - which definitely meant a stopover at Haagen Dazs ice cream - I had a double scoop - cookies and cream, and belgian chocolate. (forgot to take a photo - boo-hoo)

Couldn't find what we were looking for, so headed off to Mong Kok, coz I mentioned that I wanted to buy a pair of converse shoes. We went to a street that sells sneakers only - and Derek was the one who ended up with a purchase. Though I think I might go back and buy the white leather pair of converse.

(at mong kok markets "ladies street")
(trying on shoes - though this isn't the pair he boguht)

Derek then took me to have a look at two malls - one that was filled with mobile phone shops, and the other filled with computers & accessories. Competition is so fierce there, and very limited room to walk around.

Afterwards, went for dinner. Had fish balls with ho fun noodles in Kowloon City. It was so yummy. Cheap but tasty - better than lunch. Hmmm-mmm...

Then headed to Wong Bo (near Hong Hum) for some Hong Kong night views. Though pictures taken weren't that great. I think you have to be there to "see" the "atmosphere".

Finally - dessert! Drove down to Hong Hum, couldn't find parking - so Derek double parked! Apparently it's quite common in HK to do so. All you have to do is keep an eye out - and if you see an officer, quickly run out and drivve away. Luckily that didn't happen last night.

We had this dessert that is a special for the shop - called "black white dessert" - which is basically egg with black sesame. There were even instructions on how to eat it!

top - (what the dessert looks like upon arrival)
(after eating half of it - the black sesame appears!)

Derek - thank you for driving me around and showing me the sights of Hong Kong. My feet are aching from all the window shopping...
